Our partners

We are proud Pasa Sustainable Farming members and work closely with their team to access resources for sustainable agriculture and conservation in Pennsylvania. We want to make sure our land isn’t only good for our animals — it’s good for our neighbors and our future, too. Pasa has helped us implement silvopasture in our fields with trees compatible with rotational grazing. Western Pennsylvania Conservancy joined in to help create a riparian buffer zone around our creek to prevent runoff and pollution spreading to the greater Laurel Highlands area. Penn State Agricultural Extension is using our farm to study how winter bale grazing improves the soil and forage health of formerly strip-mined acreage. Dr. Sjoerd Duker has undertaken a two-year study of these improvements, and the results have been amazing! We are proud to work closely with sustainable agriculture researchers like Dr. Duker to improve scientific understanding of ways to regenerate our once industrial land. It is our intent to expand winter bale grazing to all pastures on the farm.
